Goddess Lakshmi is admired as the goddess of fortune and money. The word Lakshmi is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘lakṣa’, which means goal, aim or objective. Goddess Lakshmi is also the one of the main member of Tridevi (triad of Hindu Goddess). In the pictures of Goddess Lakshmi, She is either sitting or standing on a lotus and she carrying lotus in one hand and money pot in other hand.

• Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth, fortune, power, beauty, fertility and prosperity, and associated with Maya ("Illusion").
• Along with Parvati and Saraswati, she forms the Tridevi of Hindu goddesses.
• Within the goddess-oriented Shaktism, Lakshmi is venerated as the prosperity aspect of the Mother goddess.
• Like the lotus, as the Goddess of Prosperity, Lakshmi shows us how to transcend material wealth for spiritual progress.
• The lotus is also a symbol for purity, fertility, and beauty. She is often shown with four hands, which are meant to represent the four goals of life: kāma, artha, dharma, and moksha.
